Cattle are available year round -- Come tune-up your working cow horse, cutter, or team penning horse. $30 per horse without instruction. $50 with instruction.
Please call ahead, appointments are necessary.
Buffalo are also available for practice -- call for pricing and availability.

Beginning Horsemanship Clinic
For those individuals that want to learn more control and how to ride better. "The Program by Carl Wood" will help teach you how to use your body to signal the horse what to do. Just because you have been riding all your life, it doesn't mean that there aren't a few things you might have left out. This is the best clinic to learn where your holes are and how to correct them. For young horses: Now you have him broke, where do you go from there? Using "The Program by Carl Wood", you will learn how to get the most out of your young horse without blowing his mind. Beginning Horsemanship Clinic.  Learn the Carl Wood Program of training and riding. You will become a better rider by learning how to train your horse. This is the pre requisite for the intermediate and advanced program clinics.. Complicated maneuvers are broken down into simplified exercises filling in all the holes in the riders that have been riding for a long time. And giving the basic building blocks for the beginning riders and horses. $60 starts. Bring your lunch.

Intermediate Horsemanship Clinic
For the more advanced rider we are offering an Intermediate Horsemanship Clinic. You will be required to have taken my basic horsemanship clinic or private lessons to be allowed to take this clinic. It will give you more advanced exercises to continue training your horse at higher levels. More advanced exercises, putting together combinations of exercises, and more advanced manuevers like flying lead changes, sliding stops, etc.

Colt Starting Clinic
This is a serious clinic for those who really want to start their own or their clients' horses. We will take five 2 year olds that have not been ridden but just halter broke, and lead you through all the steps that we go through here at Doubletree. Carl will show you his methods that have been developed over many years. No two horses are alike, so different approaches are needed for each, with the same goal in mind. If you have a two year old that is trainable, halter broke, has some manners, and has not been ridden and wish to have it in the clinic please contact Carl. The owners will also be included in the training. The charge to those providing horses will be $150. Spectators will be $75. Cutting Clinic
Learn the basics and introduce novice horses to the cows. Learn the four corners, herd entry, cut from the herd, and how to choose your cows. Little talk and lots of action! Space is limited, call today to reserve your spot. [Calendar]

Basic Cow Clinic (Part 1)
You will learn how to get a cow where you want them an how to read and figure out what they are about to do. Young horses will benefit from this clinic because it will introduce them in the best way to the cattle and spark their interest in looking at a cow. If you ever want to do Versatility Ranch Horse, then this is a good clinic to working cows. [Calendar]

Working Cow Horse Clinic Learning to read cattle, being able to control their movements and put them where you want them. You will get to do end work as well as down the fence. You will also learn how the working cow horse classes are run and what the judge is looking for.  Beginning horses will be taught separately from advanced horses. If you have never worked cattle before you and your horse will start in the cutting pen. More advanced will work in the big arena. Cost $65 starts 10am, Bring your lunch. 

Attend one of our Versatility Ranch Horse Clinics and see just how much fun you can have while attending one of our shows. Usually two full days with Trail, Ranch riding, and Confirmation on the first day, and the second day consists of Cutting and Working Ranch Cow Horse. Learn what the rules are and what the judges are looking for. You will get to practice for the upcoming show, which is usually the following weekend.
